Insufficient capitalization
(a) If the problem is poor cash flow, realize that negative cash flow is a ‘normal’ problem for a company in the Baby stage of corporate evolution (or a start-up).It requires the continued dexterity of management to deal with it. It will not ‘go away’ till the company becomes more mature and is able to pay its own way.
However when a more mature company has continuous negative cash flow problems this will be far more serious
(b) If, it is not cash flow per se, but in order to realize your defined plans to move forward, capitalization is a necessary tool, it will open up an entirely different dimension to your business operations. Note that, still in this day and age when service-based enterprises make up the majority of business endeavours, venture capital is usually not available for services businesses, but remains almost exclusively available to product-oriented enterprises.
